See What Sticks

A message from our co-producers…

Welcome to See What Sticks’s Annual Gala! We’re so excited you’ve decided to join us. Between COVID and the strikes, this gala has been years in the making, and we could think of no better way to honor the importance of See What Sticks by showcasing not just previous performers, but by doing what we do best: getting six incredible artists in various rooms over the past six weeks, workshopping pieces in progress together, and seeing what sticks.

Your presence here not only demonstrates your belief in our mission, but also speaks to your tremendous support for the future workshops to come. We are so proud to be part of this community with you, and that we have had the opportunity to work with such talented folks along the way. Thank you for doing your part to help keep this artistic space open and accessible to all (except, of course, improv)!

Peace, love & workshops,

Alicia & Erica

Special Thanks To:

Our workshoppers! Thank you to everyone who has been coming to See What Sticks to try out something new, scary, different, or imperfect. We hope to be a safe space for you to continue to do that for years to come! And thank you to our audiences, those who come to give feedback, welcome new ideas, and trust the process. We appreciate you!

The Workshop Jam

The Workshop Jam

About the Jam

In lieu of our traditional workshops, but in keeping with the pillars of See What Sticks, the SWS team hosted a long-term workshop to support the development process of six artists. You will see the works in progress that resulted from that six-week process! The proceeds from our event this weekend will go toward another year of See What Sticks, and more programs like this to better serve our LA creative community.

Our Workshop Jam was facilitated by the co-producers of See What Sticks as well as two guests:

  • Anna, (Taurus sun, Scorpio moon, Cancer rising), discovered astrology as a teenager before it exploded into the mainstream. Back then she only had Jan Spiller’s “New Moon Astrology” to pour over with a few other interested friends. Later, after her Saturn return, and some major life changes, Anna decided to become a professional astrologer. Anna believes each person’s chart has many stories to tell, and that each person has innate strengths and challenges that she can bring to light and help you work with. She also believes that astrology is for everyone and that some western co-opted spirituality can be rather exclusionary and binary, so she aims to create a space in which anyone of any background can get a reading without feeling like they’re reading a chapter out of the 90s classic “Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus”. She’s studied with Deborah Silverman, Sarah L’Hrar, Colin Bedell, Tara Voegel, Ocean Pleasant, and Malika Semper, and is currently interning for Sarah L’Hrar’s Level 1 and 2 classes through Debra Silverman’s Applied Astrology School. I look forward to working with you, and sharing about what the stars and planets have in store for you!
